Our History
Established in 2011, Dar Al Sunnah is a Masjid & a learning centre situated in North Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In addition to offering the 5 daily prayers & Jumuah, we strive to educate our community with the pure and authentic teachings of Islam.
Our goal is to uphold congregational prayers as well as enlightening our community with correct, authentic Islamic knowledge. We focus on delivering Islamic knowledge based on the Quran and Sunnah according to the understanding of the righteous predecessors of this Ummah. We strive to teach a wide range of Islamic sciences using reliable sources of Ahl Al Sunnah wal Jama’ah.

Hadith
Uthman reported God's Messenger as saying, “If anyone builds a mosque for God, God will build a house for him in paradise.”
(Bukhari and Muslim.)
وَعَنْ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ»
Quranic Verse
إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ فَعَسَىٰ أُولَٰئِكَ أَن يَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ The mosques of Allah should only be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and fear none but Allah. It is right to hope that they will be among the ˹truly˺ guided.
At-Tawbah - Verse 18
O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship) . Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.
